While growing up in Nebraska, I have always appreciated the wonders of nature that surround me. I am inspired by the sky, the wind blowing through the grass of the plains and most of all by a supposedly simple flower. God has created such beauty and I want to capture that beauty in my paintings.
I have taught myself to paint with watercolors and they are perfectly suited to my photo realistic style. I can achieve wonderful detail and very vibrant colors. I use a combination of glazing and dry brush technique to add depth and detail to the painting.
In 1997 I was accepted into the National Watercolor Society
as a signature member. I also received the Winsor Newton award for my watercolor “Bumble Bee Banquet”.
